SEVERANCE

Severance is a painting about one's inner space. The room becomes a metaphor for the self, while the window marks the boundary between the individual and the outside world. The green crosses beyond the window reference Neon Genesis Evangelion, where they symbolize human souls and the Human Instrumentality Project. Here, they remain outside the room.

This work is not about unity, but about preserving individuality—the moment when a person chooses not to dissolve into the collective, but to remain alone with their own vision.
